I'm always reminding green smoothie enthusiasts of the importance of rotating your greens. There is more to life than spinach and kale.

This beauty right here is one of those best kept secret powerhouse greens.

Bok Choy is a cruciferous vegetable related to the cabbage, broccoli, kale, and brussels sprouts and offers the same protective, rejuvenating properties.

The anticancer properties of cruciferous vegetables are well documented. Bok Choy contains a higher amount of vitamin A than other cabbages and protects the liver from aging damage from sugar, alcohol, and medications as it is stored in higher amounts in this organ.

It's high content of beta-carotene (2,682 mcg per 1 1/2 cups) that can be converted to vitamin A helps fight toxins and premature aging.
